About Uncovr
Uncovr is building AI-powered infrastructure for the future of surgery.
We work at the intersection of artificial intelligence, surgical video, clinical workflows, and healthcare technology. Our mission is to help surgical teams better understand, document, and improve surgical procedures by turning complex clinical data into structured, useful, and trustworthy insights.
We are a fast-moving startup working on technically ambitious problems with real-world clinical impact. As we expand our platform, we are looking for a Cloud Architect to help design, build, and manage the cloud infrastructure that supports our product, data pipelines, AI systems, and engineering workflows.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Cloud Architect to own the design, setup, and reliability of Uncovr’s cloud infrastructure.
In this role, you will design and manage the cloud systems needed for hosting, data transfer, storage, monitoring, security, scalability, and deployment. You will establish strong DevOps practices across the engineering team, including CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, deployment workflows, logging, alerting, monitoring systems, and observability tools for continuous deployment.
This is a hands-on infrastructure role for someone who can design robust cloud architecture, support containerized deployments and scalable distributed systems, and help the team ship safely and efficiently in a high-trust healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and manage Uncovr’s cloud infrastructure.
Architect cloud systems for hosting, data transfer, storage, monitoring, security, and scalability.
Support cloud infrastructure, containerized deployments, and scalable distributed systems.
Establish DevOps practices across the engineering team.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, monitoring systems, and observability tools for continuous deployment.
Design deployment workflows for backend services, AI systems, data pipelines, and user-facing applications.
Implement logging, monitoring, alerting, and incident-response processes.
Improve infrastructure reliability, performance, availability, and cost efficiency.
Work with engineering teams to ensure cloud infrastructure supports product, data, and AI workflows.
Define infrastructure-as-code practices for repeatable and auditable cloud deployments.
Support secure handling of clinical, video, and structured data across cloud environments.
Identify infrastructure risks, bottlenecks, failure modes, and scalability constraints.
Ensure systems are secure, reliable, maintainable, and suitable for healthcare and hospital environments.
Help ensure Uncovr’s systems are observable, maintainable, and ready to scale.
What We’re Looking For
Experience as a Cloud Architect, DevOps Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or similar role.
Strong experience designing and managing production cloud infrastructure.
Practical experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Experience building CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and deployment workflows.
Strong understanding of networking, security, storage, compute, monitoring, and cloud architecture patterns (SOC2 and HIPAA).
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or similar.
Experience with containerized deployments and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience supporting scalable distributed systems in production.
Strong understanding of logging, alerting, observability, reliability, and incident response.
Ability to design infrastructure that is scalable, secure, cost-aware, maintainable, and suitable for healthcare environments.
Strong collaboration skills with backend, AI, data, and full-stack engineering teams.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment.
Nice to Have
Experience building infrastructure for healthcare, medical technology, hospital environments, or regulated settings.
Familiarity with data security, privacy, compliance, and auditability requirements in healthcare.
Experience supporting AI, machine learning, video, or data-intensive workloads in the cloud.
Experience with secure data transfer, large-file processing, streaming, or video storage systems.
Experience with MLOps infrastructure, model-serving systems, or GPU-backed workloads.
Familiarity with observability platforms, cloud security tools, secrets management, and access control systems.
Experience designing high-availability systems and disaster-recovery processes.
Experience supporting edge-to-cloud workflows or real-time data ingestion.
Interest in surgery, clinical workflows, AI infrastructure, and healthcare technology.
Who You Are
You are deeply technical, reliable, and infrastructure-minded.
You care about building systems that are secure, observable, scalable, and easy for engineering teams to use. You think carefully about failure modes, deployment risk, cost, security, and long-term maintainability. You are comfortable working hands-on while also setting the architectural direction for cloud and DevOps practices.
You are pragmatic, organized, and able to work across engineering, AI, data, and product teams. You understand that in healthcare and clinical environments, infrastructure is not just about uptime - it is about trust, safety, privacy, and reliability.
Why Join Uncovr
At Uncovr, you will help build the cloud foundation behind a new generation of surgical intelligence tools.
This is a high-ownership role for someone who wants to design the infrastructure that supports AI-powered clinical workflows, surgical video systems, secure data pipelines, scalable distributed systems, and healthcare technology in production.
